Part 1: Research Grammar Topic
Part 2: Present Grammar
Part 3: Provide Practice Activities
In your group, you will be responsible for researching the grammar point assigned. You need to be able to teach this grammar point to the class. You must include many clear examples (these can be lifted right off the website or from the textbook) to help your classmates understand the grammar rule(s) you are presenting. You can use the whiteboard, a powerpoint presentation or other resources.
In addition, you need to have practice activities for your classmates to do. These can be fill-in-the-blank activities, find the error activities, sentence completion activities or any other grammar practice that helps the class use the grammar. I have a lot of resources to help you find these activities. You don't have to create your own.
You will be assessed on the three parts: Researching, Presenting, and Providing Practice.
Here is the rubric:
Research 5 points possible
The group learned the grammar point well enough to explain it to the class. Presentation 5 points possible
The group used examples and/or common errors to explain and clarify the grammar point to the class. Visuals were used. Practice 5 points possible
The group provided practice activities requiring the class to use the grammar point presented. These practice activities thoroughly covered the topic and provided challenge to the class.
In our class, groups will be presenting different grammar topics throughout the semester. Here is the list of groups:
